                                             Glossary


           Active-lifestyle           a lifestyle that involves regular participation in physical
                                    activities.

           Aerobic exercise           physical activity that increases the heart rate and improves

                                    cardiovascular endurance.
           Agility                    the ability to change direction quickly and efficiently, essential
                                    in sports and physical activities.

           Anaerobic                  exercise that involves short bursts of intense activity, usually
                                    without relying on oxygen, for improving strength and power.

           Anaerobic exercise         intense physical activity that doesn’t rely on oxygen uptake
                                    for energy production.
           Athlete                    refers to an individual who engages in sports and physical
                                    activity such as running, swimming, basketball, soccer,
                                    gymnastics, etc.

           Balance                    the ability to maintain stability while stationary or moving;
                                    crucial for preventing injuries and enhancing performance.

           BMI (Body Mass Index)   a measurement that assesses body fat based on height and
                                    weight.

           Body composition          the ratio of fat, muscle, and other tissues in the body; an
                                    important aspect of overall health.
           Concussion                 a traumatic brain injury caused by a blow to the head or
                                    body.

           Cool-down                  light exercises performed after intense activity to gradually
                                    lower heart rate and aid recovery.

           Defence                  an act where a team tries to prevent the opposing offence
                                    from scoring.

           Endurance                  the ability to sustain physical activity over an extended
                                    period; often associated with aerobic fitness.
           First aid                immediate medical care given to an injured person.

           Flexibility                the range of motion in a joint or group of joints, often
                                    improved through stretching exercises.

           Hurdle                     an object that an athlete must jump over during a race.
