Inner trouser length: Measure from the crotch down the inside leg to the ankle or
the desired length.
Thigh: Measure around the widest part of the leg (thigh), keeping two fingers between
the body and the tape. The position is just below the crotch, around the leg.
Full length: Measure from the nape to the waist with the tape held at the waistline
and continue measuring to the desired length.
Taking body measurements for a skirt: The required measurements for making a skirt
include waist circumference, hip width, hip length and skirt length. Refer to Figures
8.2 (a) –(d) showing how to take the required measurements for a skirt:
