          Language

Language is a system of communication used by a particular country or community.
It is the most common style of communication. It allows people to express their
thoughts and ideas through written or spoken form. Language is a primary means for
learning and transmitting one’s culture. Language has two forms, namely spoken and
written. Traditional African societies used spoken language because their culture was
based on oral tradition. African oral traditions carried messages that were presented
through theatrical performances such as storytelling, heroic recitation and dance.
These performances used the language indigenous to a particular ethnic community.

to take care of our family. Both my relatives and I are very respectful to our parents.
We follow all the instructions given by them and other elders. We observe all our
society norms, values and customs. We help our parents with household activities
such as evening meal preparation after school, especially when our mother returns
home from work late. Sometimes our father works with us in the kitchen when
he comes home early from work. We like working with our parents. We love our
parents, and they love us too.

          Social organisation

A social organisation is a pattern of relationships between and within individuals
and social groups. It defines how people treat one another in the community. It also
defines power relations and responsibilities among members of the community. In
most communities, a leader is more powerful than an ordinary or average person. In
