              Bean common mosaic virus disease (BCMVD): This is a serious common bean
              disease. It causes mottled yellow-green leaves and poor plant growth. The virus
              also lowers the number and size of bean pods. BCMVD is spread by aphids and
              infected seeds. Using certified seeds and controlling aphids helps to prevent the
              virus from spreading.  Figure 5.4 (d) shows symptoms of BCMVD in beans.
