(iii) Sugar snap pea: This type of pea has thick, sweet pods (Figure 6.1 (c)). The
whole pod can be consumed raw or cooked. If the pods are too tough, the peas
inside can be shelled and cooked like common garden peas. Sugar snap peas are
sweet and crunchy, making them good for snacking. Table 6.1 summarises the
main types of garden peas and how they are eaten.
