Company registration certificate (Certificate of incorporation)
For companies to run day-to-day operations, they need to be registered or incorporated in
the list of the Company Registrar as per the Company Act of 2002 in Tanzania Mainland
and the Companies Act of 2013 in Zanzibar. In Tanzania Mainland, a Company registration
certificate (Certificate of Incorporation) is issued by BRELA whereas in Zanzibar it
is issued by BPRA. Figure 5.4 illustrates samples of certificates of incorporation for
Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar.
