(i) Choose the right pencil. Use different types of pencils like HB,
                2B, and 4B. HB pencils are good for light lines, while 2B and
                4B are better for dark lines;

           (ii) Begin by drawing the guide lines. Draw guide lines to get the

                correct proportions of your drawing. These lines should be
                light so that they can be easily erased later;

          (iii) Basic lines. Use basic lines to create the shape of the object
                you are drawing. For example, if you are drawing a face, start
                with a circle for the head and horizontal and vertical lines for

                the eyes, nose and mouth;

          (iv) Add details. Gradually add more details using lines. This can
                include lines for hair, clothing or other shapes;

           (v) Add shading. Use shading lines to give depth and realism to
                your drawing. You can use a cotton swab to blend the lines
                and create smooth shading; and

          (vi) Adjust and finish. Carefully review your drawing and make any
                necessary adjustments. This will include erasing all unwanted
                marks.

                     Activity 3

           (a) Sketch a desk, table, and chair without lifting your pencil

                  from the paper. Focus on the edges and shapes of the
                  subject; and

           (b) Display those drawings in your class for discussion.
