Participating in performing arts

To participate in performing arts, consider the following steps:

1. Choose a topic for the performance. It is good to choose a
message that reflects the daily life of your community. You can

discuss with your teacher to choose the relevant topic. Examples
of messages that can be used are effects of corruption, diseases,

environment, tax education, children’s rights, or the Union of

Tanganyika and Zanzibar;

2. Stay in groups with your fellows for preparations of rehearsals
and performances;

3. Prepare timetable for the performance. Make sure the timetable

indicates preparation, practices and performance schedule;

4. Rehearse based on the instructions from the teacher. Make

sure that you rehearse enough to have a good performance;

5. Prepare the tools needed for the performance. These include
costumes, make-up, and props, depending on the performance;

6. As the day of the performance reaches, rehearse in the area

that will be used on the day of the performance;

7. On the performance day, make sure everything is well prepared,

especially the stage and the props;

8. In case you are using electrical devices, make sure they are
tested in advance to see if they are safe and working properly.
