Write the following numerals in Roman numbers:

          FOR ONLINE READING ONLY
                Solution
                 (a) 14 = X + IV (b) 17 = X + VII

                            = XIV = 17
Therefore, 14 is XIV. Therefore, 17 is XVII.

                 (c) 19 = X + IX
                             = XIX
                        Therefore, 19 is XIX.

                     Example 2

                Convert the following into numerals:
                (a) XII (b) XV (c) XVIII

                Solution

                 (a) XII = 10 + 2 (b) XV = 10 + 5
                            = 12 = 15

Therefore, XII is 12. Therefore, XV is 15.

                 (c) XVIII = 10 + 8

                               = 18
                        Therefore, XVIII is 18.

                    (a) XIV (b) XVI (c) XX (d) XI (e) XV (f) XIX

                                                    5

                                                                                          06/11/2024 17:16:55
