Activity 2.8
1. Visit the banana orchard at your school or neighbouring farms and perform
the following tasks:
(a) Identify the banana variety for ripening;

(b) Identify its proper maturity stage according to the maturity indices;
(c) Prepare the place for ripening and follow the ripening procedure; then,
(d) Design the marketing strategy for the ripe banana.
2. Record your observations and experience during the activity, including the
steps you took, the challenges you faced, and the lessons you have learned.
3. Use the collected records/information you have been recording in all stages
of banana production to:
(a) Evaluate the profitability of banana production enterprise; and
(b) Suggest measures to improve the enterprise and share in class.
In your portfolio, write a summary of what you have learnt from
this chapter.
