2. Select a song for the show. You are advised to choose a song
that you like. The song should also have an attractive message
that reflects people’s lives in the community you come from;
3. Have enough time to rehearse. The rehearsal should involve

vocal and singing exercises. If the song is to be sung by a group,
practise with your fellow singers. Good preparation makes the
singer confident. Therefore, he or she can perform well in front
of the audience;
4. Before the performance, arrive early at the performance venue
or platform that will be used and do some rehearsals. The
rehearsing includes knowing the stage and testing the musical
instruments;
5. On the day of the performance, have enough time to rest before
the performance time. Also arrive at performance area on time;
6. Be confident with the preparations you have made and avoid
showing signs of wanting favours that could lead you into corrupt
practices; and
7. During the performance, express the feelings you have about
the song confidently as you send the intended message to the
audience. If it is a happy event, smile and show your happiness.
If it is a sad event, express the mood of sadness with the relevant
voice or actions.
