Reading music while observing accents
When listening to music, one can notice that there is a steady and continuous
pulse to which they could tap, clap, nod or march. This steady and continuous
pulse is known as beat. Some beats are strong while others are weak. Strong
beats are known as accented beats. These are beats which have been given
much stress or emphasis in a bar. The remaining beats are known as weak beats.
