                                  Coordination in plants

             Introduction

Plants are made up of different parts which work together in a coordinated manner
to perform various functions. The interaction of different plant structures in response
to external and internal stimuli is called coordination. Plant coordination involves
the communication between cells, tissues, and organs, allowing the plant to adapt
to its environment effectively. In this chapter you will learn about coordination
in plants including tropic and nastic responses. The competencies developed
will enable you to understand factors that can promote healthy plant growth and
               maximise crop productivity.

Think stimuli is not the same as in animals. Plants
respond to environmental changes by using
                                                      hormones.

Concept of coordination in plants Most plants are fixed on the ground and
are incapable of moving from one place to

Plants use their parts to detect changes called movement of curvature or growth
in the environment. Plants can detect and of curvature. Movement of curvature
