Process of wardrobe planning: Wardrobe planning is not an easy task. It requires to
understand what someone has and what he/she need, and the reasons for the planning.
The following are processes involved in wardrobe planning.
Sorting clothes: Before sorting and counting the clothes, a wardrobe chart should be
created then all the clothes should be removed from the closet. Clothes should be sorted
into four categories as follows:
(i) Remain: These are clothes that someone likes and wear often. Choose which clothes
you will keep and arrange them by type. For example, pants should be separate
with trousers or shirt. This will help to know the clothes you have in number and
colour.
(ii) Repair/clean: These are clothes that need repair or cleaning before wearing. For
example, garments with missing buttons or worn out need to be repaired before
cleaning and wearing.
(iii) Revise: These are clothes, which may be given out because they are rarely worn.
Look carefully in this type and think about the reason for not wearing the garment.
For example, if the garment does not match with other clothes in a wardrobe or
does not fit someone well but it is still wearable; give it to relatives, neighbours or
to charity organizations.
(iv) Toss or retired: This includes clothes, which you will throw out. In this category,
include clothes that have worn out and cannot be repaired for outgrown clothes
give to other people.
