Magnetic field region around a magnet in which magnetic materials
are affected by the magnet. Lines of action of magnetic
                                         force represent it.
Magnetic lines are imaginary lines of action of magnetic force that run
from the force from the north pole to the south pole of
a magnet and through a magnet to form closed loops.

Magnetic meridian is a vertical plane in which the magnet rests with its
axis lying in the magnetic north-south direction.

Optical density is a measure of the extent to which a substance transmits
                                         light or electromagnetic radiation.

Polarization (in a cell) is a chemical reaction that occurs while a current flows.
The reaction causes hydrogen bubbles to form on the
surface of the electrode. The bubbles form a barrier
that increases internal resistance, resulting in poor cell
                                         performance.

Polychromatic light consists of multiple wavelengths, which appear as
                                         different colours.

Prism is a 3-dimensional transparent body, usually made of
optical glass, with at least two polished plane faces
inclined towards each other from which light is reflected
or through which light is refracted.
Rainbow is an arc of coloured light in the sky, produced by
reflection, refraction and dispersion of light within
droplets of rain in the air. This results in splitting up the
white light of the sun into its component colours.
Real image is produced in an optical instrument, such as a lens or
mirror, and can be projected onto a screen. The actual
intersection of light rays forms real images.

Regelation is the phenomenon of melting under pressure and
freezing again when the pressure is reduced.
