1. Proposed project activity
As part of your course in accounting, you are tasked with conducting a
comprehensive financial analysis project. This project aims to enhance

implications within businesses.
Specific objectives
Through this project, you will:
(a) Gain practical experience in analysing financial statements and
interpreting accounting data.
(b) Develop critical thinking skills by assessing the impact of
accounting policies on financial reporting.
(c) Enhance your communication skills through written and oral
presentations.
(d) Apply theoretical knowledge from the classroom to real-world
business scenarios.
Project instructions
(a) Select a company: Choose a publicly traded company that interests
you. It could be a multinational corporation, a local business, or
any entity that publicly discloses its financial information.
(b) Gather financial data: Utilise resources such as the company’s
annual reports, financial news sources, and published financial
statements. Ensure you have access to at least three years of
financial statements (income statement, statement of financial
position, and cash flow statement).
(c) Analyse financial performance: Apply accounting concepts and
techniques learned in class to analyse the company’s financial
performance. Consider areas such as profitability, liquidity,
