              (i)   Are there any similarities or differences between this literary work and other
                    texts you have read or cultural narratives you are familiar with?

            1.  Analyse the development in any characters throughout the acts, in two selected
               plays. How do their interactions with other characters and the unfolding events
               shape  their  personalities  and  decisions?  Discuss  the  significance  of  their
               transformation  from  innocence  to  experience  and  the  impact  it  has on  the
               overall theme of the play.

            2.  Using  four poems of your choice, explore how  the speaker’s  introspective
               monologue reveal his inner conflicts, anxieties and desires.
            3.  Discuss the  techniques  the  poets  employ  in  any  four  poems  to  convey  the
               persona’s  personality  and  how  their  character  reflects  broader  themes  of
               alienation and disillusionment in modern society.

            4.  Using two novels you have read, examine how the theme of racial injustice is
               depicted through the characters.

            5.  Explore the theme of gender roles and societal  expectations  as portrayed
               through the two plays of your choice. How do the characters’ subservience to
               self-discovery illuminate the limitations imposed on women in 19 -century

            6.  Use any prose fiction of your choice to examine how characters conform to or
               challenge traditional gender norms, and explore the author’s commentary on
               gender dynamics within the societal context of the narrative.

            7.  Analyse specific scenes or characters in any play of your choice to illustrate
               the playwright’s exploration of gender identity, power dynamics, and social
               expectations within the context of the play.

            8.  Explore  how a  poet  of any poem  of your choice  challenges  conventional
               notions of masculinity and femininity.
            9.  Read any novel, play and poem and do a comparative analysis of how the
               writer of each work approach the theme of gender, and what similarities or
               differences do you observe in their respective representations.
