Maps are essential tools for identifying where people live and where
different features are found. Maps can use dot symbols, or colours

to show distribution of people. For example, if you see many dots
close together on a map, it means many people live in that area,

like in big cities. If the dots are spread out, it means fewer people

live there, like in the village or small towns.

The distribution of people and objects also can be determined by

using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other digital tools.

This helps us to understand where people are more or less crowded.

Maps also use specific symbols to represent the distribution of
different features on the earth’s surface. For example, house symbol

shows where homes are located, while a school symbol shows
where schools are found. Similarly, maps use different colours to

show features. For example, blue might be used for water sources
like rivers and lakes, green for areas with forests, and yellow for

          desert areas.

Generally, you are advised to use the key to see what symbol or
colours used to represents distribution of objects and people so as

you can use the map properly.
