Subtraction of decimal numbers
In subtracting decimals considers the value or place values of the
digits before or after the decimal point.
Subtraction of decimal numbers with one decimal place
When subtracting decimal numbers with one decimal place, first
subtract decimal parts followed by whole numbers.

Steps Solution
1. Subtract decimals: 3 – 2 = 1. Write 1 in 5.3
the decimal place. − 3.2
2. Subtract whole numbers: 5 – 3 = 2.
Write 2 in the whole number place. 2.1
Therefore,5.3 3.2 2.1.
