Glossary
Anticipate: to expect something, or to prepare for something before it
happen
Arouse: to make somebody have a particular feeling or attitude
Artwork: the pieces of art, such as drawings and photographs, that are
used in books, newspapers, and magazines
Audience: a group of people who have gathered to watch or listen to
something (a play, concert, somebody speaking, and others)
Auditory nerve: a nerve in the ear that carries electrical signals from the inner
ear to the brain
Character: a person or an animal in a book, play or film
Costume: the clothes worn by people from a particular place or during
a particular historical period
Cultural: is related to the habits, traditions, and beliefs of a society
Drama: a play in a theatre or on television or radio
Eardrum: a thin piece of skin inside the ear that moves backwards and
forwards very quickly when sound waves reach it, allowing
one to hear sounds
Film: a series of moving pictures recorded with sound that tells a
story, watched at a cinema or on a television or other device.
Friction: the force that makes it difficult for one object to slide along
the surface of another
Gestures: a movement that you make with your hands, your head or your
face to show a particular meaning
Hydrated: having absorbed enough water or other liquid
Index finger: the finger next to the thumb
Initiation
ceremony: a process or event that a person takes part in to become an
official member of a group
Instrumentalist: a person who plays a musical instrument
Intellectual
abilities: They are related to memory, reasoning and ability to solve
problems
