The digestive systems and digestion in livestock
Before you can learn about what and how to feed your livestock, it is important to
know something about their digestive systems. This will guide you on the type of
feedstuff that your animals shall be able to eat, digest and utilise. Livestock that are
commonly kept in Tanzania may be grouped into two major categories based on
their digestive systems. These include ruminants and non-ruminants.
