          Advantages of dairy farming enterprise
          (a) Dairy farming provides milk: Milk is used as sources of balanced food. Mothers
sometimes produce less milk than what is required by their infants, therefore,
milk from livestock is commonly used to feed the infants.

          (b) Provides manure: By farming dairy animals you can get good organic manure
              for soil fertilisation through dungs.
          (c) Provides employment: You can employ yourself by starting an enterprise but
also you can employ other people to look after your livestock.

          (d) Dairy farming is one of the sources of income: Dairying provides regular
income to the farmer. In addition, there is a potential to export and sell surplus
dairy products to other countries to earn foreign money.

          (e) Provides milk products: Milk from livestock can be processed into various
products such as butter, ghee, cheese, yoghurt, and ice cream.

                                                                    Student’s Book Form Three
