Oral description gives clear and concise information about an activity or event.
Its primary purpose is to create a picture in the listener’s mind. Proper use of
words (adjectives and adverbs) helps to make your description more vivid.
Words such as stringent, severely, and tragically enrich the description.
Task
1. Imagine you recently attended your brother’s wedding ceremony, but your
classmates did not. Prepare a three-paragraph description of the ceremony
and present it to the class orally. Use online or offline sources to find
the meanings of the words in the following box and use them in your
description:

2. Imagine that your friend was recently admitted to the District hospital. After
recovering, he/she returns to school and wants to know what happened
during the election that took place in his/her absence. Prepare and give an
oral description of the election as your friend listens. Use online or offline
