Choice of fabrics in
garment construction
Introduction
Fabric is the most important component in garment construction and can
be selected in such a way that it creates an illusion to the actual look of an
individual body. It is therefore, important to understand the right choice of fabric
with the corresponding figure type. In this chapter, you will learn about choosing
fabric for constructing garment; effect and suitability of style, colour and line on
different figure types. The competencies developed in this chapter will help you
to choose a suitable fabric and garment style that fits an individual’s figure type.
