Disposal of fullness
Introduction
Acquiring a good fit of a garment is a process that needs proper knowledge and
skills. Disposal of fullness is an essential process in garment making. In this
chapter, you will learn various methods and procedures for controlling fullness.
The competencies developed will enable you to apply various techniques to
control fullness in garment making.
Meaning of disposal of fullness (iii) Drawing up of fabric such as gathering,

Disposal of fullness is the term
used in sewing to mean various
techniques, which are used to
reduce excess fabric, provide the
desired shape and add design
features or style to a garment.

especially on children’s garments
and comfort to the wearer. Fullness
