leaves, models, diagrams and charts showing the mechanisms of
           regulation in organism

           7.1 The concept of regulation
           FOR ONLINE READING ONLY
               Teaching steps
               1. Guide students through think-ink-share to brainstorm on the
concept of regulation in organisms. Guide them to share their
                  ideas in class.
               2. Guide students to search from the internet sources, simulations
on homeostasis of temperature and blood sugar. Ask them to
write short notes on what they have observed.
               3. Guide students to search from the internet sources the
simulations or videos on feedback mechanism for homeostatic
control. Ask them to note what they have observed.
               4. Use Activity 7.1 to guide students to investigate the effect of
positive feedback mechanism in ripening fruit.
               5. Assign students to do Exercise 7.1 from the Student’s Book.
Mark it the exercise and provide feedback.

           7.2 Temperature regulation

               Teaching steps
               1. Guide students to brainstorm on the concept of temperature
regulation in animals. Guide them to share their ideas in class.
               2. Guide students in manageable groups to discuss the adaptations
of endotherms to cold and hot environment and maintenance
of a constant body temperature in warm environments. Check
whether students participate actively in group discussion.
Guide them to present their group work.
               3. Guide students in groups to discuss temperature regulation in
ectotherms. Guide them to present their group work.
