           7.3  Excretion

               Teaching steps

               1.  Guide students though question and answers to explain  the
                  concept  of  excretion  in  animals.  Make  clarification  where
                  necessary.

               2.  Guide students through think-ink-share to brainstorm on the
                  general  functions  of the  kidneys. Guide them  to share their
                  ideas in class.

               3.  Guide students to search from the internet sources the images
                  or video  showing structure of the  mammalian  nephron. Ask
                  them to describe what they have observed.

               4.  Ask students to search from the internet sources the videos or
                  simulations  to  explore  the  mechanisms  of  urea  formation  in
                  mammals. Ask them to note what they have observed.

               5.  Invite a health specialist to explain urinary disorder in human
                  beings (uremia, renal failure or kidney failure, kidney stones,
                  urinary tract infections (UTI), urinary tract obstruction and
                  diabetes insipidus) to the students. Ask students to write causes,
                  symptoms and control measures.
               6.  Assign students to do Exercise 7.3 from the Student’s Book.
                  Mark the exercise and provide feedback.



           7.4  Osmoregulation
               Teaching steps

               1.  Guide students to search from library and internet sources the
                  information  about osmoregulation  in marine  elasmobranchs
                  and osmoregulation in mammals. Ask them to write short notes.
