1. Choose five keywords from your description in Activity 2.1 (a) and list other

your partner to discuss their meanings and construct example sentences
containing those words.
3. Listen to a recorded speech by a well-known political figure who is a
native speaker of British English and learn all the new vocabulary used in
that speech. Write the meanings of those words and use them to construct
example sentences.
4. Take note of the target audience for the speech in 3 above and rework the
speech with specific vocabulary for a different audience.
(b) Act out the following dialogue between Tiba and Sikitu and complete the activities
that follow.
[Tiba and Sikitu are Form Five students who aspire to become environmentalists.
They normally meet every Friday for the Mazingira Bora Club. While waiting
for other members, they start up a conversation.]
Tiba: Hi Sikitu!
Sikitu: Hello Tiba! It’s nice to see you.
Tiba: Same here. I’ve been thinking more about environmental problems
issues lately. What are your thoughts on the escalating environmental
problems we face?
