Using synonyms in conversation and writing

(a) Read the following conversation between Sarah and Jamila which demonstrates
how synonyms are used in natural settings.
Sarah: Hey, did you catch that movie last night?
Jamila: Yeah, I did. It was fantastic!

Sarah: Really? I heard it was just nice.
Jamila: Well, maybe we have different tastes in films.
Sarah: That’s true. I guess “fantastic” for you might be “decent” for me.
Jamila: Exactly! It’s all a matter of perspective.
