The voice and the breath
Relaxation and concentration processes must be accompanied by checking the
breath. This is important and it helps an actor to fully investigate the moment and
it makes it alive. When acting, it is actors’ duty to give the screenplay a breath, a
voice, and a soul. When actors read parts, they see them in their minds. The actors

should have impressions and ideas that flesh out the scenario and make it come
to life. The actor’s imagination is what is used to create a character whom they
eventually play. One of the essential elements of imagination process is the actor’s
own breath, which must flow into character’s life. As you deepen your relaxation
and direct your concentration to tighter and more refined circles of focus, the breath
gives way to making sounds and eventually the voice. Actors must continually
breath especially when working on a character. Proper breathing is fundamental
of any acting technique. In film acting, since it isn’t necessary to project the voice,
the breathing and vocal patterns should be realistic as they are in everyday life.
Listening
One of the most important abilities for actors is the skill of listening. While acting,
actors should be able to listen to each other and to themselves. Listening is one
of the abilities that allow actors to take in what is happening around them. In an
acting process, they hear, they react to what they hear, and they respond. Through
their response, audience gain knowledge of the world, both internal and external,
in which actors exist.
Reading thoroughly the script
Film actors should read film script before they are ready to work on the character.
There are different ways to approach the reading. In any way one chooses, they
should first seek to know how big the role is. Actors check frequencies the character
appears in the script and what the locations of those appearances are. To explore
character’s attributes and with whom the character interacts, quickly go through
the pages and note the scenes that include the character you are going to play. Then
actors should start reading only the scenes they have marked so as to get a picture
of the character. Try to understand a kind of life the character in the screenplay
lives, and what the background of the character is. Actors must read the whole
screenplay and get the information that they will need to begin doing their jobs.
Rehearsals
True film rehearsal takes place at the set when everyone in the film crew is there.
The actors have to know how to work their instruments the same way the camera
operator knows how to focus and work the camera, the same way each crew member
knows their job. Though directors have their own style of dealing with the problem
