                1. Listen to any radio drama (including those from online radio), and
                    identify the performing approach.

                2. Visit a radio station and tour to its studio. Observe the performance
of an air personality, radio presenters or announcers. Interview few of

            Performing for screen
At its heart, film is another way to tell a story. It is a visual medium, one that
has the benefit of time to manipulate lights, cameras, performances, angles,
technology, colour and sound to create the atmosphere that best suits its story.
Innovations in hardware, computer effects, distribution and film making
techniques have influenced changes in filmmaking over years. The primary goal
has never changed, that is to tell people a story and entertain them.

The history of film performance is a fascinating journey that parallels the
evolution of the film industry itself. The practice of acting in films has changed
significantly from the silent era to the present. This change has been impacted by
technological advancements, societal changes, creative movements and market
competition. The term “performing for screen” describes the act of taking a role
or appearing in a movie or television programme especially for the purpose of
playing a character in a screen story. In line with the script and under the direction
of the director, actors deliver their lines, convey emotions and interact with other
characters. Actors must have a thorough understanding of their characters in
