Note: It is impossible to identify the Cardinal Directions in the midday
sun (when the sun is overhead). This is because, during this time,
your shadow will be directly around you.
Activity 2
1. Go outside the classroom in the morning, and stand at
the centre of your school compound.
2. Note the direction where the Sunrises, then identify the Cardinal
Directions while naming the objects found in that direction.
3. Make a model of the Cardinal Directions using materials found
in your surroundings.
Exercise 2
Answer the following questions:
1. What direction is behind you when you are facing North?
2. If your teacher is facing North, which direction will be on
his / her left side?
3. If you are lost in the forest and notice that the sun is setting
on your right side, which direction will you be facing?
