Chapter The uses of map
Four
FOR ONLINE READING ONLY
Introduction
In life, sometimes we need to travel from one place to another
that we are not familiar with, to access services, relax, or visit
relatives and friends. It can be difficult to reach the intended
place if we do not have someone to guide us. However, a map
is a useful tool that can help you to find the route and guide you
to your destination. In this chapter, you will learn how to use a
map to find directions, measure distance, identify administrative
boundaries, and determine relief of the Earth’s surface. You will
also learn how to use maps to determine the population of a
particular place. The competencies developed will enable you
to use maps in different contexts.
