c. 声调 声调 Tones

（i）四声四声 Four tones
一年级 Form One 一年级 （214）和四声（51）。不同的声调表示的含义也不同。声调标在
汉语普通话有四个声调，分别是一声（55）、二声（35）、三声

主要元音的上面。根据开口度由大到小，汉语普通话的元音依次是
a、o、e、i、u、ü。

There are four tones in Mandarin Chinese, namely the first tone (55), the second
tone (35), the third tone (214) and the fourth tone (51). Different tones have different
meanings. Tone mark is placed above the main vowel. The sequence of the main vowels
according to the size of the mouth when pronouncing them as follows: a, o, e, i, u, ü,
with a being the largest and u being the smallest.

(ii) 轻声轻声 Neutral tone

汉语普通话里有些字的读音是轻声。轻声短而轻，没有声调标志。跟在

一声、二声、四声后的轻声略低，跟在三声后的声调略高。例如：
