and bass pitch ranges.

Process involved in voice production
Human beings produce voice through the lungs and the vocal cords, also known
as vocal folds. Vocal cords are paired structures of tissue stretched across the
larynx, also known as the voice box. The larynx is located above the trachea or
wind pipe. The trachea is a tube that connects the larynx to the lungs. The air
produced from the lungs passes through the trachea to the vocal cords. When the
air gets to the vocal cords, it makes them vibrate to produce sound. Figure 6.10
shows the human larynx and trachea.
