           Introduction

The ability of the organism to maintain a stable internal environment, is known
as homeostasis. It enables organisms to survive in different habitats and adapts
to changing conditions. To maintain homeostasis, the body requires a complex
regulatory mechanism for adjustment since both internal and external environment
of the cells keep on changing. In this chapter, you will learn about the mechanism
of regulation in the human body including temperature regulation, osmoregulation
and blood sugar regulation. The competencies developed will enable you to
maintain behaviours that promote body balance which in turn will help your
             body maintain proper health.
