Fine art exhibition
A report by Buchana Gandi
March 15 , 2025
th
Last week, Makuta Secondary School organised an art exhibition. The Form
Three students participated in the exhibition held at the school’s football ground.
The aim of organising such an exhibition was to allow students to put what they
learnt in Fine Art into practice. Secondly, it aimed to show the positive impact of
the subject in the future, especially in creating employment opportunities. This
awareness may encourage more students to study the subject.
A lot of items were displayed during the exhibition. These were made by Form
Three students with the help of their subject teacher. All items and models were
captivating. There were baskets, masks, mats, pots, wild and domestic animal
carvings, different drawings, wooden plates, cups, spoons and ladles and many
other wonderful items and pictures. The students were confident while explaining
their items. Students from other classes enjoyed that exhibition the most. They
promised to study Fine Arts and encouraged the students to keep it up.
