Zipped opening: A zip is an opening as
well as a fastener. It can be used as an
opening for decorative effect in the front
part of the garment. It may be inserted
in a slit cut of the garment or into a
seam as semi-concealed, concealed,
visible or invisible. The procedures for
working on this type of opening will be
discussed in Chapter Four (Fastenings).
