Breeding practices
Good breeding practices help produce healthy piglets and ensure the next
generation is strong. A healthy pig with good traits (like fast growth or strong
immunity) should be chosen for breeding. The pregnant sows (mother pigs)
should be cared for by providing proper food and a comfortable place to give
birth. Effective management of the breeding herd, which includes breeding
boars and gilts, is crucial for ensuring the productivity and sustainability of pig
production on the farm.
