Preface

This book, Accountancy for Advanced Secondary Schools, Teacher’s
Guide has been written specifically for rm Five teachers in the United
FOR ONLINE READING ONLY
Republic of Tanzania. The guide has been prepared following the 2023
Accountancy Syllabus for Advanced Secondary Education, Form V-VI,
issued by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. Some of
the content in this book have been taken from the previous books for
Accountancy Form Five and Six published in 2023 in accordance with
the 2016 syllabus issued by the then Ministry of Education and Vocational
Training (MoEVT).

The book consists of ten chapters, namely: Concepts, theories, and
principles of accounting, Inventory accounting, Payroll accounting,
Investment accounting, Branch accounting, Royalties accounting,
Accounting of non-current assets, Hire purchase accounting, Correction
of accounting errors, and work plan accounting. It includes engaging
exercises, real-life examples and interactive activities that will help
students to develop skills in managing and preparing financial reports
on time. In addition, the guide will help you with the methodologies for
making students have more competencies in recording, classifying, and
preparing financial reports. This will enhance your understanding and
development of the intended competencies for this level.
