          Guidance on Activity 3.3
            1.   This activity can best be done in manageable groups as follows:
                 (a)   Guide students to search and visit some of the business
                      enterprises  that  have  received  financial  support  from
         FOR ONLINE READING ONLY
                      either government or private organizations, then ask them
                      how they secured the financial support.
                 (b)   Guide students to ask how businesses benefited from the
                      financial support received.
                 (c)  Use any method to have students present their answers.
            2.   This activity can be done as follows:
                 (a)   Guide every student to use any reliable source to search
                      for sources of finance apart from those explained in the
                      student’s book.
                 (b)  Use any method to have students present their answers.

          Possible answers
          Other sources of financing medium-sized businesses are as follows:
            (a)  Personal saving;
            (b)  Borrowing from friends or family members;

            (c)   Subsidies from the government or non-government
                 organisations;
            (d)  Hire purchase;

            (e)  Factoring;
            (f)  Bill discounting;
            (g)  Advances from customers;
            (h)  Trade credits; and
            (i)  Lease finance.

            1.     The sources of finance that Miss Johari may use to support her
                 business start-up are explained in the student’s textbook.
