            Activity 5.2

           This activity aims to enable students to identify medium-sized
           businesses operating  in  their  locality, categorise  them,  and
           describe the types of licenses they possess.


          Guidance on the Activity 5.2
            (a)   Guide every student to visit nearby business  places in
                 their  locality  and  identify  at  least  three  medium-sized
                 businesses.
            (b)   Guide every student to categorise the businesses identified in
                 part (a) based on their sectors.
            (c)   Guide every student to describe the types of licenses that the
                 identified businesses in their locality need to possess.
            (d)   Use an appropriate  technique  to have  students present their
                 answers.

          Possible answers for Exercise 5.2
             1.   The  reasons for business registration  being a multifaceted
                 phenomenon in  Tanzania  are explained  in the student’s
                 textbook.
             2.   The  sectoral  licenses  that  medium-sized  businesses are
                 supposed to  comply  with are  explained  in  the  student’s
                 textbook.
