1.1 Concept of cytology
Teaching steps
1. Guide students to brainstorm on the concept of cytology. Give
them time to share their ideas in class.
2. Guide students to search for information from the library and
internet sources the concept of cytology and cell theory, then
ask them to write short notes.
1.2 The Cell Theory
Teaching steps
1. Guide students to search for information from library and
internet sources about the origin of ‘cell theory’, the main ideas
of the cell theory, and the shortcomings of the cell theory. Guide
them to make notes on what they have obtained from different
sources.
2. Guide students to present their work to their fellow students for
reflection and comments. Make corrections where necessary.
3. Assign students to do Exercise 1.1 from Student’s Book. Mark
the exercise and provide feedback.
