the exercise and provide feedback.
1.4 The organic (biochemistry) constituents of cells
Teaching steps
1. Guide students to search for information from the library and
internet sources about the main organic molecules of the cell.
Ask them to write short notes.
2. Guide students in groups to discuss the properties of
carbohydrates and the biochemical taste for carbohdrate. Check
whether students participate actively in group discussion.
Guide them to present their group work, then, make clarification
where necessary.
3. Guide students to search from internet sources the simulations
or videos showing biochemical test for carbohydrates. Ask
them to note down what they have observed.
4. Use Activities 1.4 and 1.5 from the Student’s Book to guide
students to carry out biochemical test for carbohydrates. Ask
them to tabulate their results as in Table 1.3.
5. Assign students to do Exercise1.11 from Student’s Book. Mark
the exercise and provide feedback.
6. Guide students to search for information from library and
internet sources and prepare a brief report about types of lipids
and properties of lipids.
7. Guide students to search from internet sources the simulations
or videos of biochemical test for fats/lipids. Ask them to note
what they have observed.
