7.6 Biochemical assessment
Teaching steps
1. Organize students in groups and guide them to discuss how

contributions and be attentive to any misconceptions or
misunderstandings that may arise. Clarify their doubts
and misconceptions by providing additional explanations,
examples or guiding questions.
2. Guide students to search from the library or the internet on
the advantages and limitations of biochemical assessment
method.
3. Assign students to work in groups to perform Activity 7.6.
Ask students from each group to share their findings with
the class and encourage active participation of students from
other groups. Clear their misconceptions.
7.7 Clinical assessment
Teaching steps
1. Organize students in groups and guide them to discuss
different ways of performing clinical assessment.
2. Use videos or simulations to make students informed on
how clinical assessment is done to identify individuals with
nutritional problems.
3. Use gallery walk or any other techniques to make students
determine advantages and disadvantages of using clinical
method of nutrition assessment.
4. Invite a guest speaker from healthcare centre to provide
nutrition education on clinical assessment.
5. Assign students in groups to perform Tasks 7.7. Mark
students’ works and clear any misconception.
