relays between the two end systems. These
network nodes implement layers 1-3 of
the OSI architecture. The network layer
is responsible for managing the transfer
of data between network devices. It
determines the routing of packets based
on the unique network device addresses.
Additionally, it provides flow and
congestion control mechanisms to prevent
depletion of network resources.
