Introduction
Managing conversations with a good command of pronunciation involves effective
articulation of words and speaking phrases and sentences with authentic rhythm
and intonation in order to convey messages clearly and confidently. It requires
the use of proper enunciation, pacing, and intonation to ensure effective oral
communication. By paying attention to pronunciation, rhythm and intonation
speakers can enhance comprehension and engagement, foster productive dialogues
and facilitate smooth interactions in various social and professional settings. In
this chapter, you will learn how to manage spontaneous and non-spontaneous
conversations using appropriate oral English skills of pronunciation, rhythm and
intonation. The competencies developed will enable you to participate confidently
in spontaneous and non-spontaneous conversations with people speaking different
English dialects using appropriate oral English skills.
