in the column titled, “Other African countries”, can be found. You may read
books from the library or materials from the internet.
(b) Listen to different music and identify the genres to which they belong.
(c) Listen to two songs from different genres and describe the messages they
convey. Who are the possible audiences for the songs and why?

Elements of music
Music is characterised by a number of basic elements, such as rhythm, melody,
harmony, dynamics, timbre or tone colour and others. All these are important
aspects of any music. Various pieces of music can be analysed by describing their
