1. After harvesting dry peas, your friend leaves the plants in a heap on bare soil
for several days. Later, it was observed that some seeds turn mouldy.
(a) What do you think caused this problem could have gone wrong,

2. Two groups of your classmates store dry peas; one uses clean bags on wooden
pallets, and the other keeps them in sacks on the floor. After one week, one
group finds mould in their stored produce.
(a) What do you think caused the mould to appear?
(b) Which group do you think had this problem, and what should they do
next time to avoid it?
3. A buyer refused to pay a good price for a bag of peas because it contained
broken seeds and dirt. Suggest what steps could have been taken earlier to
avoid this problem?
4. You harvested good garden peas but could not sell them quickly. After two
days, some started to spoil. What options could help you to reduce loss and
still get a fair price?
