              Cowpea mosaic virus disease: This disease causes yellow or green patches on
              leaves (Figure 7.8). The leaves may curl or become narrow. It is spread by aphids
              and  negatively affects  plant  development.  It  can  be managed  by controlling
              aphids, removing infected plants, and planting resistant varieties.

               Activity 7.7

              Perform pest and disease control in the school cowpea field by doing the following:
              1.  Visit a cowpea plot in your school farm and nearby cowpea fields, and check
                  for signs or symptoms of pests and diseases.
